Stories of my hunting experiences with family, friends or whatever else I want to blog about.

A Dixie Lady Deer Hunter

Article by Fred Messina, editor of "On Target Outdoors" from The Vicksburg Evening Post on Friday, January 19, 1990. Photo by Bob Phillips.

Bob Phillips came up the other day with a photo of his wife Marian and a deer she got on Brown's Point New Years Eve. The deer was an 8-point with 16 inches of inside spread that weighed in at 190 pounds. A nice trophy in anyone's book. However, the tale Bob told is that this was Marian's fourth deer this year and he claimed that he would have done better than he did if he had not spent so much time hauling Marian's deer out of the woods. Come off it, Bob. We all know who the hunter was.

A Hunting Dad's Blog

I saw where hunterdad had came by to visit me and went over to his blog to find a very interesting guy by the name of Ron, who actually had died and was brought back to life.  He is 39 years old and due to this experience and recovery, he had time to reflect on his accomplishments in life.  What is most important to him is spending time with family and what really counts is his time spent with his children in the outdoors.  This is a fairly new blog that will share tips and advice for developing a good strong hunting relationship with your children.  I was very impressed and wanted to share Huntingdad's blog with you.  I'm hoping that he will soon join Outdoor Bloggers Summit and invited him to do so - he would be a great asset to our community.  Go over and give him a warm welcome.

Hi Rooster - I did check out your blog...very nice and interesting. When I was young our parents raised chickens within the city limits...I don't know how they got away with it but they did. We also had a pet duck! Mom killed it but I could not eat it..not a thing to do to a youngin!

You are so welcome Ron...and thanks for the blogroll link. I really do appreciate that. Will add you to my links as soon as I can figure out what is wrong...seems like lately when I try to add a code or a link it messes up all my links. I have not heard back from Blogger about my problem yet..as soon as I do, will be more than happy to add you my friend. Happy Blogging! :)
