Youngsters On The Hunt

Kaya Crist, age 11, killed her first deer, an eight-point buck, in Sharkey County on a trip with her grandfather.  She used a .242 from 100 yards out.  The spread was 17 inches and the buck weighed 250 pounds.  Crist is the daughter of Connie and Mike Crist.

Brandon Thompson, age 10, killed three snow geese with a 20-gauge shotgun on a recent goose hunt outside Waldenburg, Ark.  He is the son of Charles Thompson of Vicksburg.  Congrats to Brandon and Kayla on their successful hunts in our great extreme outdoors!

Really you are very brave!!! I am amazed on reading the story. I started hunting deer when I was 18 years old and although we had lots of fun being together as a family during those hunts, the hunting itself was miserable. I don't remember a time when I wasn't either soaked to the waist from wading through flooded swamps. South carolina hunting
