A Dixie Lady Deer Hunter
Article by Fred Messina, editor of "On Target Outdoors" from The Vicksburg Evening Post on Friday, January 19, 1990. Photo by Bob Phillips.
Bob Phillips came up the other day with a photo of his wife Marian and a deer she got on Brown's Point New Years Eve. The deer was an 8-point with 16 inches of inside spread that weighed in at 190 pounds. A nice trophy in anyone's book. However, the tale Bob told is that this was Marian's fourth deer this year and he claimed that he would have done better than he did if he had not spent so much time hauling Marian's deer out of the woods. Come off it, Bob. We all know who the hunter was.

Bare Hands Deer???
mrjbigfoot (my friend at CamoSpace) of one of his hunting buddy's 4 year old son who decided to go deer hunting out in his back yard! He said...no bow, no gun, no weapon of any kind! He just went out and got one with his bare hands! LOL! From what he said, one of their Clumber Spaniels may have led the way so I would say he is learning the value of a good dog at an early age! LOL! The fawn was safely released back to her mom and I told him that he is truly lucky that the doe did not kick the crap out of his son! She must have been off feeding somewhere and/or the dog may have spooked her away. Considering that his Dad, in his late 30s, has only harvested a few deer and has had some trouble hitting them, we will not let him live this one down! LOL!!! Thanks for sharing mrjbigfoot!
