Camp River Traffic

I could hear the hum of a towboat coming but did not know how far away it was.  It was so nice and peaceful watching the river roll on by while I sat on a downed tree.

Bob waited in our truck to watch the river traffic with his binoculars while I explored. Had to put the truck in 4-wheel drive to get through the sandy road.

Just as I pulled away from the opened cove we spotted the towboat Carol McManus going down the river with her tow.

Another barge coming down the river but with no name as it passed by us.

Suddenly, I heard this noise and there was a biplane flying across the river very low and I was able to get this shot as it went into a side inlet.

Stands signs along the river road going towards the fish camp.

No. 42 is a very nice deer stand near the river.  I enjoyed hunting off these stands so I could hear the sound of the towboats passing by.

After walking back to the truck from deer stand No. 42, I had briars over me! Should have worn my hunting boots!

As soon as I took this picture of this guy out in the middle of the river, the biplane flew in front of me at eye level and if I had waited a few seconds, I may or may not have gotten it in my camera...all I saw was a blue and silver plane in front of me.  It happened so fast that I could not believe my eyes!!

Small boats going over to the edge of the river on a sandbar to chill out for awhile.
To be continued...

Nice pictures and reflections of your past experiences.

It certainly would have been fun to catch that bi-plane on camera.
