Sandbar's Out!

I went by the Louisiana overlook this morning to see if there was any river traffic but it was pretty quiet. Here are a few pictures of the sandbar that is out on the Louisiana side.  The Mississippi River stage at Vicksburg since yesterday was 10.1 feet.  Fell: 1.2 foot.  Flood stage: 43 feet.

I remember when we were members of Brown's Point Hunting Club on Kings Point Island, we would ride our 3-wheeler and 4 wheeler on the sandbars near the camp during the summer months.  It was so much fun and now those days are gone forever.  Only have good memories to cherish the good times.

Riverfront Park on MS River

A train crossing the old Hwy 80 bridge into Louisiana.  Last weekend people were camping out near the pier on the sandbar.  Notice the buoy in the river.

It's a beautiful day in Vicksburg at the Mississippi River.
