Stories of my hunting experiences with family, friends or whatever else I want to blog about.

A Dixie Lady Deer Hunter

Article by Fred Messina, editor of "On Target Outdoors" from The Vicksburg Evening Post on Friday, January 19, 1990. Photo by Bob Phillips.

Bob Phillips came up the other day with a photo of his wife Marian and a deer she got on Brown's Point New Years Eve. The deer was an 8-point with 16 inches of inside spread that weighed in at 190 pounds. A nice trophy in anyone's book. However, the tale Bob told is that this was Marian's fourth deer this year and he claimed that he would have done better than he did if he had not spent so much time hauling Marian's deer out of the woods. Come off it, Bob. We all know who the hunter was.

Ian's 5th Birthday Party

This afternoon we went to my Great Grandson's 5th birthday party and had a great time.  Kids were everywhere having so much fun.

An up-close picture of Ian, The Birthday Boy!

He loves to pose for his picture to be taken and always says "Cheese."

Then he's off and running to the top of...

...a big inflated boxing ring.

Kids were playing in an enclosed trampoline.

By now he has taken off his shirt and holding up a huge wrestling belt.

Time to play with the girls...uh oh...almost hit that car!

Place setting for his friends.

Getting ready to sing Happy Birthday!

Time to blow out one, two, three, four and five candles!

Family and friends enjoying his birthday.

He knows who to give his money too...Dad!  His other Great Grandmother standing behind his chair.

Opening a package that is as big as he is with lots of clothes inside.

Finally he got a new deer hunting hat, orange vest with a rifle.  He's ready to go hunting now.

Ian is so thankful for all his gifts!

My granddaughter, Victoria (Ian's Mother) carrying a goat.

Here is Billie the goat up close.

Billie is a girl goat and she is 4 months old.  Here she is eating acorns in the driveway.

A cute little girl with a boy driver who has run into some trouble.

Ian would not pose for us anymore and wanted to go back playing with all his friends.
