Towboating On The River

Went by the Louisiana overlook this afternoon to see if there was any river boat traffic and we got lucky.  Saw two towboats making their way north to their destinations.  It's almost like deer hunting...sometimes you see them and sometimes you don't!  It's a pretty day here in Vicksburg with a high of 82 degrees with rain coming in after midnight for a couple of days.

M/V  Miss Kathy in plain view!

M/V Miss Kathy headed for the bend in the Mississippi River.

This guy pulled away from the sandbar but stopped to let M/V Miss Kathy go by and here he is standing up in his boat.  Note - no life jacket on!

M/V Bob Stith coming in view with a wide empty load.

M/V Bob Stith up close.

The guy in the small boat made a mad dash to get to the other side of the river between the two towboats.

M/V Bob Stith getting ready to make the turn in the river while M/V Miss Kathy is on her way north.

A pulled out view with Diamond Jacks Casino and Hotel to the right.

A very wide load with 25 empty containers.

M/V Bob Stith is on his way!
