Miss Piggy Went To The Flea Market

Today is RiverFest in Vicksburg and a fun day for our community with thousands of people coming for music entertainment and the art festival.  RiverFest brings up-and-coming local artists and national acts to town to entertain and tap into our rich musical heritage.  We were blessed with perfect weather today and a cool breeze.

My only sister, Laura, with her new Boston Terrior, Miss Piggy!  We went by Petsense and picked her up a new carrier and collar/leash.

Really wasn't the best time to go because it was almost 12:00 noon and warming up fast.

Front entrance to the Old Court House Museum on the east side.

Laura finally put Miss Piggy down to walk but she is not interested.

Not only had booths in and around the Old Court House but was food, fun and games and booths in downtown Vicksburg.

Dogs were everywhere enjoying the day!

Miss Piggy resting in the shade!

Met Fiona the poodle with her TuTu on!

North side steps to the Old Court Museum.  Steps are on the North, South, East and West of the Museum.

Another dog enjoying the flea market.

We stopped to eat a funnel cake and this lady started playing with Miss Piggy!

This is on the South side just past the steps.

Resting on the grounds of the New Court House before we headed home.

Miss Piggy Poses In Her New Bed

This is one cute little Boston Terrier named, Miss Piggy!  I could not resist her different poses in her new bed as she sleeps and grows.

She loves the pillow effect of her new bed!

Going to have a neck ache when she wakes up!

Almost touching the floor!

You can't see me sleep now!

She is out of it!

What a pose Miss Piggy!

Growing By Leaps and Bounds

My sister's new puppy is growing by leaps and bounds and she is so cute.  Below are some pictures I took a few days ago with her new bed and toys.  She is so spoiled already but that's OK...she's a puppy and you just can't help it.

While in the kitchen I took this picture of her sleeping and then....

....all of a sudden she opened her eyes and gave me a look!

Here is her new bed that my sister got for her this past Easter and some new toys!  Her favorite toy is...yes guessed it - the little pink piggy!  She likes to bite and shake it like crazy!  Do you think she loves her new bed?

Bunches Of Pretty Flowers

Pictures of the beautiful flowers are taken from my sisters lovely home in the country.  I enjoy taking my camera and walking around shooting everyone of them.  They are all so pretty and if you could only smell the aroma...really nice and invigorating.

Takes Two To Tow

Was lucky to catch a towboat going up the Mississippi River this afternoon but more surprised to see two towboats pushing a large barge.  The one facing me was M/V Jeffboat and could not see the other name on the towboat.

Took a pullout view of the two towboats getting ready to make the wide turn in the MS River at Vicksburg.

As they were making their turn in the bend I was able to get the name of the other towboat, M/V Dennis Hendrix.

An old rotten tree stump about to fall down at the Louisiana Circle with the Vicksburg Riverfront Park below and Diamond Jack's Casino in the background.

There they go - M/V Dennis Hendrix and Jeffboat headed to their destination.

Azaleas Plus A Bee

The rains have just about beat all the blooming azalea bushes down.  A lot of blooms are on the ground and it makes for a very pretty pink carpet!  Most of the red azaleas have died out but a few are still blooming. Of course, the bees are buzzing and the butterflies are enjoying what is left of the flowers on the bushes in the woods.  The dogwood flowers are almost gone and left a white carpet as well.  The trees all have new leaves and the forest is ready for the months ahead.  I can't take a picture of the trains passing by the house now with all the foliage on the trees but glad I was able to get a couple before nature took over.

Long Live The American Queen

It is so awesome to have the American Queen come to visit our historical City of Vicksburg. She is truly a site to see.  The building was the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad but now is The Old Depot Museum!

A close-up of the American Queen bus.  Usually you see 3 or 4 busing tourist around historical sites.

Below is Catfish Row Children's Art Park for the young to play.

I was able to get a big shot of the Queen.

Close-up of her smoke stacks.

What the tourist see when they embark the Queen.

Tourist looking at our riverfront murals floodwall.

This crow was making a lot of noise!
