Modern Day Huck Finn & Tom Sawyer

My Facebook friend, Layne Logue, took these pictures of two guys in the middle of the MS River yesterday making their way to the Gulf.  Layne was in his canoe and they told him that they started in Minnesota. Their names are Tanner, Rob and dog, Cpt. Skully.  They are on a journey and are the modern day Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer.  They built a freedom raft to float down the longest river in America.  You can read all about their travels and adventures by going to their site The Barrel Raft Boys.

Good luck guys and to Cpt. Skully for a fun, safe and memorable trip!

To Risk
To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out is to risk involvement,
To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place your ideas and
dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return,
To live is to risk dying,
To hope is to risk despair,
To try is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken because
the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The person who risks nothing, does nothing,
has nothing, is nothing.
– William Arthur Ward (1921-1994)
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

What fun! And how courageous - I don't think I'd have enough confidence in my river navigating skills lol.
