The Wildlife Extravaganza was held at the Trade Mart in Jackson, Mississippi, from this past Friday, August 3 through this Sunday, August 5. This morning Bob and I got on the road and spent the morning and afternoon there. Their were a lot of good exhibits and wildlife. We really enjoyed ourselves. They had a Fetch-N-Fish fetch tub and when we got there they were teaching this dog to fetch his favorite toy, which was a Cat In the Hat toy, and to retrieved it from the watertank full of fish. This is first time I have ever seen a dog swim in the water whereby you could see his feet doing the dog-paddle! On stage a guy was talking about all the snakes that live in Mississippi. Of course, he had the snakes there and showing them off! A lot of deer heads, 4-wheelers, hunting clothes, etc., etc., etc. We saw some of our friends and got some goodies to bring home. Charming, Just Charming!
sounds like a great time
ReplyDeleteThat brings back some pleasant memories. Back when I was really into deer hunting, I never missed the Texas Trophy Hunters Association Exposition in Fort Worth.
ReplyDeleteLook at the ribbons on those antlers. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a hunter, but we are "gun people". My daddy was a deer hunter. We usually have deer each year. A friend hunts and we pay him for the 'dressing' of one of his deer. He usually has some deer sausage, summer sausage, ground deer and steaks. I don't like to eat it very often.
Have a great Sunday evening.
We wished you were with us....looking forward to your visit this coming weekend. Should be loads of fun! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I certainly couldn't have gone to that! Not with the snakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMarian - Good fun! It is always nice to go to see an outdoor oriented show and see and learn something we didn't know before. Thanks for the link!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to agree with wagsandpurrs. No snakes for me!
ReplyDeleteThe rest of it sounds like fun though.
