We stopped and ate lunch at this neat restaurant on the Rio Grande River. It was a nice scenic spot and we ate outside to enjoy the beautiful view. About 15 minutes after we finished eating another thunderstorm came through. We timed that just right!
I thought this was very unusual to see the clouds above and below the mountain. It was a beautiful scenic drive.
Ron got the tarantula to crawl up on some driftwood and I took this picture from inside the truck. He said that the tarantulas are migrating now back to where they were born.
As we were leaving for a trip to Taos, NM, Ron saw this tarantula crossing the road not far from the house and he got out to catch it. Karen took this picture before Ron picked it up.
A beautiful picture of the sun going down the day we got there on September 19, 2007. The next day we had thunderstorms and that was awesome sitting up on top of the world!
Here is a picture I took of Karen (Bob's daughter, my step-daughter) and Ron in front of their home.
We stayed in a two million dollar adobe home with walls 12 inches thick and over 5,000 sq. ft. It is a grand home with a 360 degree view of beautiful mountains and rolling hills of pinon and juniper bushes, flowers, etc., on 10 acres of land. You can view the sun coming up and the sun going down. The home took over a year and half to build and in January of this year the family moved in. A really nice place to stay!
Looks like a great vacation. What a beautiful place. The wife and I went there years ago and found things in the shops to be a bit expensive. She looked at a straw hat in one shop and it was priced at over $100.00. She passed and went down the street to Woolworths and bought one that looked just like it for less than ten bucks.

We had a wonderful time with our family jdp. I know we could not live there...everything is very expensive, but a beautiful place to visit. Makes it even nicer when you have family living there.
