Feral-Hog Solution...

Talking about hogs...my friend Steve sent me these pictures yesterday on how a west Texas farmer who had a feral-hog problem took care of it - wild hogs will ruin a farm. "HAD" IS THE KEY WORD HERE ! This may be the solution to the wild hogs at the famous Christmas Place! :)

  3. I was having a heck of a time looking and wishing I had one of those until I enlarged the hog shot and saw the baby hanging from the dude's mouth. That's what gives us hunters a bad name. Sorry.

  4. Marian. I have to agree with Mushy, whoever that is...these blogs are looked at by all, and to be standing there gloating, holding a babe in his mouth with a beer cup in his hand, is tasteless and crude. We hunters all realize the serious issues out of control hogs raise, but this type of post just adds fuel and rational to the anti-hunters program. Shame on him. Jack

  5. petty rough post, but very interesting in the point of how horrible the wild hog problem is.
    Leave it up.

  6. That pic has been around for a while, and it's drawn a lot of negative feedback... maybe rightfully so, at least from a PR point of view.

What most people don't know is that this photo represents an eradication effort... pest control. It's a lot like the video of the helicopter hog slaughter that was making the rounds recently. It doesn't sit well with the "ethics" of hunters, but the fact is, it's not about hunting OR ethics. There is no difference between what these guys are doing than there is when you have the exterminator come to your home to kill the cockroaches or termites.

But yeah, the pic is in poor taste for a global audience... particularly when so many people don't understand the difference between exterminators and hunters.
