Bob's Gone Hunting

After church Sunday we met up with my sister and brother-in-law at El Sombrero's Mexican Restaurant to each lunch.  Got to talking about hunting and my brother-in-law, Chris, mentioned about going hunting later on after his church services lets out at 7:00 that evening.  I asked him where it was located and said it was down 61 South near the Big Black River in Claiborne County.  The name of the camp is Kennison Hunting Club on Anderson-Tully leased land.  He has not killed a deer yet and the season is almost over with.  Before the conversation ended about hunting, Bob had already arranged to go hunting with him today and I thought...what about me!!!!
I guess I will go next time!  If Bob gets a deer we will half it with Chris.  The guest dues are $15.00 a day which is not bad but will take away from Chris's deer count of 4 does and two bucks.  We have already been fortunate enough to get two does at Rex's famous Christmas Place in the MS Delta back in November.  We are looking forward to returning soon to either harvest a doe or a hog.  Here are some pictures I took on March 6, 2010, while hog hunting at the Christmas Place.  After I was dropped off on the main road, I made my way up a steep incline to a deer stand and saw several deer feeding.  I got my camera out and started taking pictures.  After the deer left I realized that I could not get into the stand but stayed nearby and hunted off the ground.  It was such a beautiful morning to be in the woods and so nice to look back at these pictures and remember my hunts.  I will be picking Bob up later this evening after I attend a meeting.  I hope they are both successful today with some rain predicted later tonight and the winds shifting out of the North.

  2. Bob and Chris did not see a deer and then Bob lost his glasses. Good thing Chris found them the next morning on the ground at the camp. He was lucky that a 4-wheeler or truck did not run over them. There was a lot of guys at the camp when I went to pick him up that night! Just pure luck!
