Yesterday, we went by Downey's Barber Shop so my husband Bob could get his hair cut and Todd, who is my Facebook friend, (orange shirt) told me about this big gator that he and his wife and friends got over the weekend. Below is some pictures of it. I told him he needs to put this in the paper! This is awesome and congrats to everyone who had a hand in hauling it into the boat.
As the story goes....this past Saturday and into the early morning hours of Sunday, this monster gator was harvested by the above group. It took them almost an hour to get it into a boat. They all had a hand in it. It was hooked on a treble hook and took some time to wear the gator out. When they got him close enough to the boat it took two shots to the head with a shotgun go put it down. It weighed 610 lbs. and 12' by 8" long. It was killed somewhere on the big Black River.

Todd said they are going again this Saturday and try to help another friend get a gator but this one is Scott's.
Still admiring their CATCH OF THE DAY!
Ride'em gator guys!
Gator tied up in the boat.
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks alligator season is from September 7 until Monday, and a permit is required. On Wednesday, Rob Neil, of Montegut, Louisiana, caught a 12-foot-long, 800-pound alligator in the Intracoastal Waterway at Bourg, Louisiana.
