After The Christmas Day Storm

This picture was taken off my back porch of the sky after the storm had passed. It rain and it rain and it rain and got about 2 inches with about 400 Energy customers without power according to the paper.  We were lucky that we did not lose our power and that we escaped major effects of this enormous storm system that unleashed damaging tornadoes across the Deep South.  Last night was very windy as the cold front pushed through and the low for tonight will be in the upper 20's.

We had planned a big family get-together for Christmas Day but had to be postponed for one day since two of my daughters lived out-of-town and traveling would be very dangerous.  The best part, which was a BIG surprise, was having my grandson, Michael "Ethan" Kelly, home from the Air Force (Fort Lee, VA) for the Christmas holidays. Also, got to spend some time with my great grandson, Ian and with all my family except for another daughter residing in Virginia and the same system headed her way.

Christmas Day Storms in the Deep South!

  1. I am glad to see you remain in your home the day after the storm.

The Mississippi River sure can use some of that rain you got to get the barge traffic moving again.

    Glad you are all safe.
