M/V Amy Gattle Northbound

M/V Amy Gattle making her way northbound with empty containers yesterday afternoon.  It is so nice to have an app called FINDSHIP on my phone so I know the name of the towboat coming. Before I would use my camera to zoom in to get the name and/or my phone to take pictures.

A pulled-out shot.

Making her way just after passing the bridges to another hurtle...

...the bend at Delta Point which makes most Captains uneasy.

  1. I knew you had a thing for riverboats of all types. I didn't know there was an app for it! lol

  2. I don't know if you follow my blog or not, but many moons ago, I had a post on the few years (as a kid) that my paternal granddad lived on Neal's Island, in the Ohio River.

  3. I do read your blog Gorges Smythe but must have missed that one about your granddad.

Yes, I found out about the app about month ago and love it. Of course, we have a slew of towboats passing by being on the Mighty MS and love to watch and take pix of them. One time I had one to blow his horn after I was waving frantically! Was so surprised that he even saw me way up on a hill at the Louisiana Circle where I go to take pix. That was a cool day for sure to have that to happen to me. :)
