Throw Back Thursday Picture: Mitch Lawrence of Columbus, MS, took down this swamp buck on December 24, 2015, north of Columbus at 9:30 a.m. with an AR 15 in 6.8 at about 80 yards. The buck ran for 20 yards and weighed 228 lbs., with a 24-inch spread.
Congratulations to Mitch on a fine buck in our great Mississippi outdoors!

ReplyDeleteYes, it was Gorges. One of the stands I really liked was near a swamp and always saw deer and even harvested deer there. One day while walking to the stand for an afternoon hunt, I had 4 waiting on me but of course they took off running!
