Road Trip To Natchez National Cemetery (1)

Last Saturday my friend, Johnette and I took a road trip to Natchez, MS.  The trip was to visit her husbands grave who died two years ago and was buried in the Natchez National Cemetery.  On our way down 61 South we past by some strange looking buildings like the one above.  Not sure what it is but looks like a silo.

Close-up view with a doorway!

Above is the Old Country Store in Lorman, MS.  I have been in this store several times going to Natchez through the years.

It's a country store/restaurant now serving "soul food" with a lunch buffet featuring heavenly fried chicken!

We took a two mile side trip down Red Lick Road to Rosswood Cotton Plantation Mansion which is a Mississippi Landmark circulated 1857 and checking it out one day.

Tour hours!

Rosswood was shelled during the Civil War, used as a hospital for both sides, and now had been restored and furnished.  You can view real plantation diaries and documents, tour the mansion and slave quarters and sleep in history.  We are looking forward to touring it.   To be continued...
