Sandbar Is Out @ Vicksburg, MS

Went to the Mississippi Welcome Center this past Saturday after the flea market and took some pictures of the sandbar that is way out in my hometown.

While taking pictures a tugboat passes under the bridges and a train is coming over the MS River on the old Hwy 80 bridge.

I met a cute peek-a-poo dog by the name of Phebe.

It was a very long train coming across the bridge from Louisiana.

A look at the sandbar from the Navy Circle next to the Mississippi Welcome Center.  Ameristar Casino is at the far right.

Another picture from Navy Circle looking towards the bridges of I-20 and old Hwy 80.

Took this picture from Ameristar Casino of the bridges.

My brother-in-law checks the gages to see if there is any shifting of the pier.  You can see the water levels on the pier itself.  Today the river level is 5.78 feet and changed +0.273 foot with flood stage at 43 feet.  You can almost walk across the river to Louisiana with the river so low!
