A New Record Gator Length!

On August 28, the MS Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks certified a new alligator length and was taken in the Southwest Alligator Hunting Zone by hunting party of Bryan Burnside of Brandon, MS, near Natchez.

The length was 14 feet and 3/4 inches, which broke the previous record of 1/2 inch.  It weighed 766.5 pounds with belly girth of 69 inches and tail 43 inches.

Congratulations to Coby Acy, Stephen Brady, Bryan Burnside and Anthony Acy of a job well done in our great wild Mississippi outdoors!
