Spending Quality Time With Family

Yesterday, I got to spend some quality time with my daughter, granddaughter, and two great-grandsons in Raymond, MS. It really gives me a boost in my life to be around family that I love so much. Here are some pictures I took of my two great-grandsons, William David “Will”, and Noah James playing. Little Noah was also showing and reading to me one of his many books!

"America" Paddlewheeler Visits Vicksburg Last Saturday

America paddlewheeler moored at our waterfront Saturday for a full day of touring our civil war town of Vicksburg, MS. M/V Patsy J heads to the MS River in the Yazoo Diversion Canal. America is scheduled to return next Friday, April 23, and also on May 1. Vicksburg: The Key To The South!

Timothy's Stellar Buck Mount

Timothy Miller of Mount Olive, Mississippi, got his 12-point buck back from this past season recently. Man is it beautiful, he said. Huge shout out to Nick Walker on this mount. The attention to small detail is out of this world! The taxidermist did a stellar job on this mount. My congratulations to Timothy in our great wild Mississippi outdoors!

Chad's Mississippi Turkey

Chad Sullivan of Montgomery County, Mississippi harvested a very nice turkey with a 9-1/2 inch beard with 1-inch spurs. My congratulations to Chad in our great Mississippi outdoors.

Lacey's Two Big Birds

Lacey Jones Vowell of Ackerman, Mississippi, got her very first gobbler Saturday evening and followed up with the second one on Sunday evening! Talk about a weekend for the books!

Down At The Waterfront Today

The American Jazz cruise ship docked all day with her passengers touring our civil war town of Vicksburg, MS.  She will be back on April 22 with American Countess.

When I got there the passengers just loaded up on two buses to tour our Vicksburg National Military Park and other historic sites around town.  This is how they get off the ship from the opened bow.

American Jazz & American Countess Spending The Day!

This was our lucky day to see American Jazz and American Countess spending the whole day in our historic city of Vicksburg, MS. Tomorrow, America will be here, and American Jazz will return on Monday. Queen of the Mississippi will be here Wednesday, April 14, followed by American Countess on Thursday, April 15, and Saturday, April 17, America. This is so awesome to see all the riverboats and cruise ships returning. Vicksburg: The Key To the South!

Queen of the Mississippi In Hometown of Vicksburg, MS

The Queen of the Mississippi came Easter Sunday afternoon with her passengers and spent the night. I had planned to take a picture of her at dark all lit up but never made it to the waterfront.

You can see the buses in the picture looking down at Catfish Row at Children’s Art Park.

Easter Azaleas Flowers

I spent the last two days visiting my sister in Bovina, MS, which is on the outskirts of Vicksburg.  They have 9 acres of land and were invited to a birthday party on Saturday and then Easter Sunday to Church with a delicious meal at their home.  It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed my two visits.  Here are some pictures I took of their beautiful azaleas bushes for you to enjoy as well.  

 

The butterflies were moving so fast and were able to catch some in flutter mode.

American Duchess Back In Town Until May

The American Duchess is back in town on a beautiful Friday and will be making her way northbound.  A couple of pictures I took while she was moored at the waterfront while her passengers toured our civil war town and the Vicksburg National Military Park.    Vicksburg:  The Key To the South!  River Level: 44.84 feet - Flood Stage: 43 feet

The Duchess is scheduled to return on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Queen of the Mississippi is scheduled to return Easter Sunday southbound after spending her first full day last week.  It's so great to see the riverboats and cruise ships returning to our waterfront.

Corey Gipson of Hattiesburg, MS, caught this 49-pound flathead a few days ago at night, and it put up a good fight, he said. Corey is a lineman for Cooperative Energy. My congratulations to Corey in our great wild and wonderful Mississippi outdoors!

Newly Christened "American Countess" Comes To Visit

Welcome to the newly christened “American Countess” who made her debut in our historic city of Vicksburg, Mississippi today.  She is the fourth paddlewheeler in the American Queen Steamboat Company fleet and on its first scheduled cruise with guests - a seven-night sailing from Memphis to New Orleans.  We are so excited to have her visit our town.  Vicksburg:  The Key To The South!

American Countess On Maiden Voyage

The American Countess was christened last Sunday and is scheduled to visit Vicksburg, MS, tomorrow, Tuesday, March 30, during her maiden voyage. The American Countess is part of the American Queen Steamboat Company fleet of riverboats. This is a picture I took off their website of the Countess.
