A Queenly Visit

Yesterday, the steamboat, American Queen, was in Vicksburg making a visit to my hometown.  She makes stops in Vicksburg on her way to New Orleans or from Memphis, TN.  Here are a few pictures I took yesterday afternoon while she was here.

Docked at the city waterfront near the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley RR Station.  The American Queen looks bigger than the building.

Zoomed in and got the American Queen bus headed to dropped off passengers from touring our Vicksburg National Military Park and antebellum homes.  You can see the Vicksburg Riverfront Murals from here.

The American Queen from the Children's Art Park at Catfish Row.

The Yazoo Diversion Canal from the MS River at Vicksburg is very high because the MS River is a flood stage right now and some of the flood walls have been closed.

Three bus loads loading and unloading tourist passengers.

Playground for the kids at the Children's Art Park.
