Coyote or Fox
This is a cam shot from my Facebook friend, Dave Quick, that was made the first part of the month and it looks like he is not sure if it is a coyote or a fox. It looks like a fox to me. What do you think?
Note: Thanks for your replies...I now know that it's a coyote!

Bo's Lucky Pig!
Bo, who finally got his pig last night according to my Facebook friend, Jeff Hunt, his Dad. He said it will be a good eating sow weighing in at 100 pounds. Red, the dog, saved them again on the recovery. Notice the bell on Red's collar. I had a similar experience when I shot a buck and could not find it and a dog was sent from another camp to look for my deer and luckily it was found. He also had a bell on him and did not bark until he was at the buck. What in the world would we do without dogs in our lives? I'm so happy for Bo on his hog hunt. Red was a good dog to find it so we could get this great picture of Bo proudly smiling and showing off his harvest in our great wild outdoors. Congrats Bo!

A Lady Hog Huntress
This lady hog huntress, Thetis, from Tennessee, said that she never gets tired of a hog hunt! This is from her hunting trip in Florida this year. What a challenge with a bow! I will be trying to get me a hog with my .270 rifle this year at the famous Christmas Place Plantation and Hunting Club on the edge of the Mississippi Delta. I hope to be as successful as she is. My congrats to her on getting a very fine hog in our great wild outdoors! You go girl!

M/V O. H. Ingram Passing @ Vicksburg
You can almost find me everyday or so taking the Louisiana Circle to check out the MS River and the towboats passing through our beloved city. I don't live far from the river so it makes it easy for me to swing by. As I was approaching the circle I saw one coming under the bridges and it was a big towboat pushing barges/containers.
I'm posting this article for a former SFXA classmate of mine, Shirley, whom I saw today and we talked about our historical city and the love we have for our hometown and the riverboats. These pictures were taken between 11:15 and 11:30 this beautiful Tuesday morning!

The Queen Between The Bridges
This is a cool shot of the American Cruise Lines' Queen of the Mississippi passing under the U. S. 80 and Interstate 20 bridges, headed south towards Natchez. The paddewheeler is expected to return to the city tomorrow with 145 passengers. I would love to get a shot like this one day. You just have to know their schedule going south in this case and take the time to go to the Mississippi Welcome Center. The picture was in this past Saturday's, The Vicksburg Post and taken by Eli Baylis. Great shot Eli!

My Super Moon Pix 2013
Last night while out walking our dog, Millie Jane, I ran back inside and grab my camera and took this picture of the super moon above the street light. Last year I took a similar picture and was happy to know that it was good enough to be published in our paper, The Vicksburg Post - Give Us Your Best Shot!

Stuck Bear Head-In-A-Jar!
Recently in Jamison City, PA, a young bear was rescued with his head stuck in a jar. Four central Pennsylvania residents said they used only a rope and a flashlight during a wild chase to rescue a young bear whose head had been stuck in a plastic jar for at least 11 days.
The frightened but powerful bruin fell into a swimming pool at least twice during the ordeal. But the group eventually yanked off the jar and set the animal free.
"I thought, 'No one is going to believe us,'" said Morgan Laskowski, 22, the bartender at the Jamison City Hotel and a member of the impromptu bear-wrangling team.
Area residents first spotted the 100-pound bruin with its head in a red jar on June 3, but it eluded game wardens. The animal was attracted to the container because it appeared to have once contained cooking oil.

Cam Kissing & Watching You!
My Facebook friend, Dave Quick, who lives in Indiana has a trail cam in his hunting territory and recently he caught this deer kissing his cam! He said, it's always amazing to see them put their nose up, sniff, and follow the scent right to the camera...nature is a wonderful amazing thing! And...
Who's watching who?
Many thanks Dave for letting me share your amusing videos!

Commemorative "Living Portraits"
My historical hometown of Vicksburg, Mississippi, just celebrated the sesquicentennial commemoration of the Civil War that was fought here and this is a video put together by the Vicksburg National Military Park capturing "living portraits" during the commemorative activities that took place between May 22 and May 27, 2013.

Supplies For M/V Miss Kris
I could barely see the towboat pushing the barge because it was so close to the Louisiana edge of the MS River at the Louisiana Circle on June 14, 2013.
As I zoom in I was able to get the name of the towboat, M/V Miss Kris, of Marquette Transportation.
All of a sudden out of nowhere came this supply boat...
...heading for M/V Miss Kris!
This is how they get their supplies while traveling up and down the MS River. My brother used to get the supplies ready for the boats when he worked at Ergon and called in their orders. They can't get in a vehicle and drive to Wal-Mart like we do because their road is the mighty Mississippi and they get their supplies from the tug boats delivering goods.
Here he is trying to line up/catch up with M/V Miss Kris!
Just about to pull along side to drop off the supplies.
Done! Now they can continue on with their voyage.

In Memory of My Dad on Father's Day
I love this picture of me taken with my Dad in November 1986 and unfortunately he died the following November. This was my very first deer that I shot, a 6 point buck, on opening day after a big thunderstorm. After taking pictures we loaded my deer at his camp, Jasper Bottom Hunting Club, in Claiborne County and went by my sister's home where my Dad was recuperating from being in the hospital, to show him my deer. He was so excited for me and he even thanked my husband-to-be, Bob Phillips, for teaching me how to hunt. I love and miss you dearly Dad!

My Magnolia tree is loaded down with bulbs and blossoms and here are two shown at different angles and lighting. I wish you could smell the sweet aroma coming from our State of Mississippi Flower. Enjoy!

Another Queenly Stop
Took this picture yesterday of the Queen of The Mississippi in town with a boatload of tourist to visit our fair and historical city. A very hot an humid day in the low 90's but at least it was not raining on their parade. You can also see some of the beautiful Vicksburg Riverfront Murals on the floodwall.
Tomorrow, June 14, is Flag Day and the Yazoo & Mississippi Valley Railroad Station is all patriotically decked out. The building is home to the Vicksburg Convention and Visitors Bureau, Vicksburg Main Street and The Old Depot Museum. In three weeks it will serve as a backdrop for music and fire works at the annual July 4 celebration.

Driveway Mushrooms
I noticed yesterday afternoon while walking our dog, Millie Jane, these two mushrooms coming up out of the ground next to our driveway. I know mushrooms can pop up anywhere and was surprised to see them there. Never before noticed mushrooms growing in this particular spot in the 22 years we have lived in our home. So far I have not run over them. What a difference one day makes in their appearance!

Backyard & Frontyard Finds
Magnolia bulb getting ready to bud out in my backyard.
I have two Magnolia trees in my backyard and one is loaded with bulbs. This is a pullback picture of the one taken above. My other Magnolia tree does not have any bulbs.
This Magnolia blossom is almost filled out!
One little wild flower all by it's lonesome in my backyard.
A flower pot full of these pretty white Begonias that survived the winter and came back.
A mushroom in my next door neighbor's yard. Looks like another small one in the background.
Close-up picture of the same mushroom.
Flowers in my next door neighbor's yard.
Simply beautiful!
