The luxurious American Queen, the grandest riverboat afloat, came to visit our historic civil war town of Vicksburg, MS again today. This is her second trip this year and did not get a chance to go downtown to the waterfront to take pictures last Friday. Of course, she is always a treat to see!
She will be coming back to visit with other riverboats during the year including the America, Louisiane, Queen of the Mississippi and American Duchess.
It was a very cloudy day for her to show up but the weather was perfect for the passengers to tour our town on buses or decided to climb the hills of Vicksburg to visit 61 North Coffee House and the historic Biedenharn Coca-Cola Museum where the first Coca-Cola was bottled or just site see around town. Her visit was short this time with only a half-a-day stay from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
I took this picture around 10:30 this morning docked at the waterfront in the Yazoo Diversion Canal off the Mississippi River while the passengers checked out my hometown. So great to see so many riverboats coming to visit us! Y'all come back ya hear!
