HAMMOCK BEARS - Video 1

*A Momma black bear and her two cubs play on a hammock.* At long last, here is the Hammock Bears video that I promised. I'm so jazzed that there's a lot more where this video came from, too. Keep an eye out. I’ll be posting more. This video may be my favorite of the lot because of the various hilariously anthropomorphic poses that the Momma Bear strikes. She is quite the character, isn’t she? And she’s brilliantly playful, too. I have compiled lots of bear family footage over the years, and I’ve never seen a Momma Bear be quite so playful with her cubs before. It’s a joy to witness. Watching this series is a bit like watching a three-ring circus. I can always find something new to enjoy with each viewing. I hope the same thing happens to you, too. If you enjoy this video even half as much as I do, then you’ll find that life is indeed very good, at least for 3 minutes at a time. :-) This footage is from a series of videos I’ve taken in the garden of my Western North Carolina mountain home. I have captured footage of other bears playing with this same hammock, as well. It seems our place has become quite a popular hang-out. It’s likely this video series has spoiled me for any other critter-cam footage I may capture in the future. Not that I mind, though. My heart is full! Sunday Fun @ Rocky Springs, MS Campground

Sharing stolen pictures of a Sunday outing at Rocky Springs Campground off the Natchez Trace Parkway with my daughter Debra Ann, Granddaughter Lucy, and Great Grandsons William David "Will" and Noah. They are only a day and year apart in age and enjoying the great outdoors!

A Large Bullhead Catfish Caught By My Cousin In WI

This young man, David Liebherr, is my cousin and his Mom is my second cousin.  He went to the river with his Dad Saturday morning and this is what David had to say.  

It was the first time fishing with him in years! It was very good for the soul. We started out with a small dry worm, caught a small bullhead catfish, cut it up for bait, and caught this big one! The lesson I learned; be thankful for the small things in life and invest in them, eventually with patience you will catch bigger and better things.  

I'm glad he took his Dad with him to fish while making precious family memories.  Congratulations to my cousin David in our great wild and wonderful outdoors of Waukesha, Wisconsin!

A New State Record

Jeremy Hirch of Hattiesburg, Mississippi is showing off a state record saltwater catfish.  A record is a record in our great wild and wonderful Mississippi outdoors!  Way to go, Jeremy!  Been there done that!

A Unique Deer Mount

Daniel Willis of Philidelphia, MS, took his deer to Joey Murphy Taxidermy and got it back recently.  This is so cool and wanted to share it with you today.
