Picture I took of the Irises near the handicap ramp to the Old Court House Museum.
Yesterday, Bob wanted to go by the Old Court House Museum to check and see if his copper trees were selling. He makes them as a hobby and not only does he have them at the museum but also placed in different locations around town and also sells them on eBay. While he was inside, I walked around the grounds and took some pictures. It's an old historical museum that was standing during the Civil War/Seige of Vicksburg in 1863. If you are ever in Vicksburg, it is a must see! The museum is standing on a whole city block. Here are a few pictures that I took that you may enjoy looking at.
Bob heading up the ramp to the Old Court House Museum.
There are four of these round buildings at each corner of the lot. On the front lawn of the Old Court House they are used for restrooms for the public. Above is the ladies restroom.
Above is the mens restroom and in the background to the left is the Vicksburg City Jail.
Worn steps that have been patched at the front portico.
A beautiful water fountain in memory of Eloise Gaugh Freeman (1917-2005).
Come To The Garden
Original iron shutters on all the windows.
On the backside of the Old Court House is a new cage that has been recently built for an injured Eagle. More than enough funds were raised to care for it and will be released back into the wild when it's tail feathers have grown back.

How pretty the Iris is in flower. Everything is so lush and green there in Vicksburg...That is wonderful that they are able to rehab the injured Eagle right behind the courthouse and get him back out into the wild.
The picture turned out so good that I made it my background on my computer. Did you read the story of the injured Eagle? It is a real good story...Thanks for coming by CDGardens! :)
