Josh Free, 13-year-old son of Dal and Jasmine Free, harvested this 11-point, 240-point buck in Jefferson County, using a .270 Remington at 90 yards. The antlers were 17 1/4 inches wide and scored 147 3/4 Boone and Crockett points.
Mary Pat Wright shot this 180-pound, 8-point buck on December 19 while hunting with her husband, Lummy, at Mill Pont Hunting Club in Claiborne County. My deer camp, Jasper Bottom, borders this camp on the Big Black River south of Vicksburg.
Sara Grace Daniels, 8, killed her first deer on January 9. She shot the 160-pound 6-pointer with a .243 while hunting with her father in southern Warren county. Sara Grace is the daughter of Mark and Shannon Daniels.
Cooper Orman, 7, killed this 8-pointer buck at Russellville Hunting Club on December 29. He shot it from 110 yards away with a youth model 7mm-08. It weighed 175 pounds and its antlers were 13 1/2 inches wide and 18 in the main beams. Cooper is the son of Charles and Susan Orman.
Vicksburg resident Talon Thompson, 12, shot this 9-point buck in November at his family's hunting camp in Redwood. It was his first buck and had a 15 1/2-inch spread. Talon is the son of Billy and Lisa Thompson, and Shay and Sam Scarber.
Shelby Bottin, left, shot an 8-point buck and her brother Connor Bottin, right, shot a 10-pointer while hunting with their father, Bobby, on Paw Paw Island. Shelby shot hers from 152 yards away, while Connor shot his at 120 yards. I'm so proud of all our hunters in our great outdoors! Charming, Just Charming!
