Onlookers Checking Out The Flooding

There was a lot of people downtown taking pictures of the flooding near the Depot.  I ran into my daughter, Debra and granddaughter Lucy (with glasses) and her friend Kelsey.

Now the MS & Yazoo Valley RR Station Depot has algae around it and flooding will not crest until this Thursday at 57.5 feet, a good 14 feet above flood stage.

People coming from all over getting a glimpse of the flooding south of town.

Lucy and Kelsey at the horse trough that's in front of the Depot.  We used to have horse and carriage tours though town.

You cannot drive down the hill to Levee Street anymore because of water leaking through the temporary flood walls now.

I do hope the temporary flood walls hold.

It was my first time to see an American Red Cross van and the Vicksburg  police were on hand making sure everyone was safe.  To be continued...
