After the ceremony Bob danced with his daughter, since Ron was playing on the keyboard, with his band, High Altitude. I also danced with Bob and Bill Worrell. A very special evening to be remembered by all.
Another special guest speaker was cartoonist, actor, Vic Lee. Vic Lee grew up the son of actors who recognized at an early age that their boy was saddled with a huge sense of curiosity, talent, and rebellion. It was clear that this combination was not going to point him in the direction of any traditional career fields.
An All-American soccer player, Lee left college early to pursue a professional career, which was cut short due to a debilitating on-field injury.
The next 10 years were spent as a bartender and stage actor in Seattle. It was this occupational duo that helped form Vic's skewed and ironic view of the world. He later combined these views, his love of health, and three business partners to create a series of athletic clubs in San Diego.
As the appointed "marketing director", Vic chose to go against the typical health club marketing grain and use cartoons as a way of getting people to read the advertisements. "I tried to find a local cartoonist," confesses Lee, "that could convey the idea of fitness and humor to an educated market week after week. After months of searching, I gave up and decided to give it a shot myself."
After winning three Nova 7 Awards for Marketing (Health & Fitness Industry) and building a small legion of fans of his cartoons - including his future wife – Vic decided to sell his shares in the gyms and develop his insightful sense of humor and cartooning skills. A short time later, he was syndicated by King Features.
"Pardon My Planet" is distributed to nearly 200 newspapers. Since the launch of his comic strip/panel, Lee has become a prominent oil painter, who goes by the name St. Victor. His oil painting work has been exhibited at art galleries in La Jolla and San Diego and can be seen online at http://www.stvictordiaries.com/.
Vic and his wife Lisa spend their time perusing the country looking for new environments from which to study human nature and record these observations in drawings, writings, and photographs.
"I can't help but view the world through the eyes of a bartender - with a morbidly detached curiosity, and have concluded that life is most fun when served straight up."
In 2006, New York Arts Magazine and World Arts Media included Vic on the prestigious list of "Top 500 Artists Worldwide."

One of the very special guest speakers for the renewing of vows was Bill Worrell, a warm and friendly outdoorsman with a flair for humor and satire, Worrell is energized by the elements in life that surround him. He maintains two full-time studios, one in Santa Fe and one in Texas. His studio on the banks of the Llano river in Art, Texas is a synthesis of New Mexico, Texas, and designs inspired by his life-long passion for archeology.
He is presently writing a book about his years of educational, business, emotional, and spiritual dealings in the fascinating world of fine art and is continuing such writings as appear in his book Voices From The Caves - The Shamans Speak. To read more about Worrell go to his site at Bill Worrell.com.
We received this cute invitation to come help celebrate their ten year renewal of vows on Saturday, September, 22nd at 2:00 p.m. They survived torrential rain, blending of children, a cattle drive and they still wanted to do it all over again. From left to right; Jessica, Brandon, Karen, Ron, Kristina and Brittany. A real sweetthing!
