Young Vicksburger's On The Hunt

Wade Dickard killed his first deer while hunting with his father, Bob, in Holmes County on November 23, 2008.

Six-year-old Lexi Douglas got a pair of deer on opening weekend. She killed this doe, in 26-degree weather, on November 22 with the .22-250 at Ridgeway Hunting Club. The next day, she shot a second doe from the same stand. Lexi is the daughter of Shea and Shaun Douglas of Vicksburg.

The same day, Katie's 9-year-old sister, Kristen, also killed a spike buck for her first deer. The girls are the daughter of Ricky and Lee Martin of Redwood, MS.

Katie Martin, 12, shot her first deer on November 15. She bagged this 4-point buck while hunting in northern Warren County with her father.

On November 15, the same day, Karley's 8-year-old sister, Kaylee, shot her first deer, a five-point buck, while hunting with her father in northern Warren County. Kayee and Karley are the daughters of Mark and Stacy Hinson of Vicksburg.
Karley Hinson, 11, shot a 7-point buck and a 130-pound hog on November 15, while hunting in Warren County with her father, whom she is pictured with. Congrats to all our young hunters in our great wild outdoors at their respective deer camps.
