I came across this old photo not long ago and wondered what monument it was taken at approximately 65 years ago. It is a picture of myself, with my Aunt Ruby standing behind me and my mother with my brother, now deceased, and my sister, Laura. I had walked by this monument many, many times and went by there the other day and took a picture of it. It is the Mississippi Monument in our Vicksburg National Military Park. I do not recall having this picture taken but it was very nostalgic to go back to where it all happened so long ago.
I'm a little shy here!
A few years ago this Mississippi emblem seal was added to the front.
Added to the right side...
...and to to the left side
Not sure if this was already there or not at the time.
And the eagles!
Picture at the monument looking down at our truck. I could imagine myself as a child running down this hill after our picture was taken.

Marian, what a handsome family and handsome memorial park! Jack
Thank you Long Ridge Deer Camp(JACK). I have walked a many a mile in our Civil War Park. This is the long North Loop and we also have a South Loop that is smaller. The park is 16 miles long but usually take a short cut on the North loop. You need to come down and go through it one day. It's awesome! Check it out online at: http://www.nps.gov/vick/index.htm
