Looking south of the Mississippi Welcome Center, Vicksburg, MS. You can see how swollen the river has become.
The current is really swift and swirling...The I-20 bridge is to the left and to the right is the old Hwy 80 bridge. The Hwy 80 bridge is closed now and used only for rail purposes. Pier 4 shows scars from numerous hits from barges trying to maneuver going downstream.
