Sunday Evening Drive

I thought this was a really cool picture of a barge going north heading for the bend in the Mississippi River at Vicksburg.  Bob and I were out and about last Sunday evening and decided to drive to the Louisiana overlook.  We saw this small towboat pushing it's empty barge containers but it was too dark to get the name off of it.  First time I have ever taken a picture this late in the evening where you could see the lights on inside the towboat.  (Click on picture to enlarge)

As we head back home we meet up again as the towboat is making the wide turn in the bend of the Mississippi River heading north to its destination.  Below is Diamond Jack's Casino all lit up like a Christmas tree.  We live so close to I-20 that a night while laying in bed you can hear the traffic going up and down the highway, east and west, and the towboats, with the hum of their engines, making their way north and south.

That does look like it would make a nice picture and it did. I just thought of something, we haven't gone out for just a drive in awhile. I am gonna have to put that on my to do list.

Thanks Rick for coming by and for the compliment. I think that would be a good idea to put on your to do list. Everything looks different and interesting when the sun goes down.
