Back Online

I'm back online after being without lights from 3:00 a.m. on Thursday morning till last night at 9:25, when my lights came back on.  We had two trees that pulled down power lines in our neighborhood. In another neighborhood across town an oak tree fell and caught a house on fire that was totally demolished. Trees were down all over town with tornado watches.  So glad Isaac is out of here but wreaking havoc in Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois and Indiana and headed east with numerous tornado warnings on the way.

Yesterday in the opposite direction headed home.

Tree down in middle of road near intersection.

This is the same tree in middle of the road that came down on this house.   Picture courtesy of The Vicksburg Post.

Praying that things will get back to normal for everybody affected by Isaac very soon.

I know how unnerving storms can be when you haven't any power - glad to hear the wait for electricity wasn't any longer.

Yesterday, around noon we had the leading edge of some clouds associated with Isaac, but the rain stayed quite a ways away.

Great you are back. Seems that this time you had better luck with the hurricane. Out of electricity can cause many problem. How do you do to keep normal things to do with electricity? How do you cook, use the toilett, because no water is coming...

Things are slowly getting back to normal now and you really don't miss having electricity until you don't have it at all. I'm watching where Isaac was going and saw you were on the edge of it Dianna.

Lindsjo taxar - I was blessed by being given an LED Coleman lantern last year at a Senior convention put on by the Vicksburg Police. That really came in handy and also had flashlights. My husband is in a nursing home for another week getting physical therapy for his legs and I was home alone. Did fine. Had canned food here and peanut butter. Toilets were working and had water but bought bottled water and had a cooler of ice bags to keep some things cold. It was not off as long this time as compared to Katrina of 4 days. It was a little over a day and half. So food in freezer was OK. Tried not to open fridge or freezer during that time. Appreciate your concern and Dianna's during this time and all my friends that came by to check on me. Good to be back online so I can blog again. :)
