Vicksburg On The Hunt

Gage Ederington brought in the new year in fashion after killing this buck while hunting with his dad on New Year's Day in Tensas Parish, LA. The deer had a 15-inch spread and 21-inch beams. Gage shot the deer with a 7mm-08 from about 75 yards.

Lezlie Whitehead killed this 8-point buck while hunting with her dad, Kyle Whitehead, in south Warren County at Magnolia Hunting Camp. She used a rifle and shot the deer at about 70 yards. The 175-pound buck had a 13-inch spread and 18-inch main beam. Kyle said Lezlie was sleeping at the bottom of the stand just before waking up to make the shot.

Logan Sanders, 5, killed his first buck, a 5-point, while hunting with his grandfather, Stanley Harris of Vicksburg, at a deer camp in Fayette. The deer had a 20 1/4-inch spread and weighed 175 pounds. He shot the deer with a .243 rifle. He is the son of Mikey and Haley Truesdell and Richard Sanders. Congratulations to all our young hunters in the great outdoors!
